A Mission Well Done

The Florida “season” is winding down, and we can all catch our breath.  We are sorry to see our snow birds go home, but we can look back over the past several months with satisfaction.  Together, we have accomplished and experienced a lot.  -more-

Fellowship

My thanks not least, thanks to all those who helped made the Maundy Thursday meal a success:  those who made stew, who helped in the kitchen serving and cleaning.  There were so many of you:  members of my committee and nonmembers.  Thank you so much.  All our events could not happen with out you.  -more-

Worship

Hello everyone.
We are beginning to say good-bye to a lot of folks as they head back to their summer homes.  It is my hope that you all have or had a safe trip.  Easter Sunday was highly attended.  We had to bring chairs over from the Lentz building to seat everyone.  Thank you to Sally Peth for providing the beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday.    Also a huge thank you to the Joy Circle/Crafters for the beautiful Easter banners in the sanctuary.    -more-

Mission

Sorry to say good bye to all our winter people.  We wish you all a happy, healthy summer. Thanks to all who contributed to One Great Hour of Sharing.  We collect $677.00 We filled another barrel for Meals on Wheels-Plus and of course they brought us another barrel.  It might take us a little longer to fill the summer time barrels but you’re all been so generous that I’m sure you’ll continue to keep this mission going. -more-

Building and Grounds

After such a hard winter, we are finally looking forward to better weather.  We had a great response to our grounds cleanup on Monday, March 22nd.  I would like to thank the following for participating and all their hard work:  Chuck Schulze, Loren & Ruth Rumsey, John Meyer, Gene Monroe, Harlan Manahan, Jack Beauman, Laverne Farmer, Lewis Seddon, Fran Sykes, and of course I was there too!   If I forgot to mention anyone, please forgive me and let me know that I did so, OK?  Thank you for bringing all the tools, bags, gloves, trucks, etc.   And, last but not least, thanks to Chuck Schulze for supplying the lunch for the crew.  We got a lot of work done and we still have some more which needs to be done.   We will plan to do this in the very near future.  It was a joy to work with such great volunteers. -more-
